Pintér Gyula 1954-ben született Jászberényben. Zongorát Csebiss Lidiánál, zeneszerzést Pongrácz Zoltánnál és János Kautskynál (Hollandia) tanult.
1978-tól saját tervezésű stúdiójában folytat elektroakusztikus zenei kísérleteket. 1980-tól szerepel különböző zenei és képzőművészeti eseményeken, fesztiválokon. Számos performance-on és színházi produkcióban vett részt, mind Magyarországon mind külföldön.
Utóbbi években több pályázaton nyert díjat: (Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Competition, 1989, 2001; Magyar Rádió Nemzetközi Elektroakusztikus Zenei Verseny, 1992, 1995, 1999).
