Mikor Dióbél megszületett, nagyon kicsi volt. Apját azzal csúfolták a szomszédok, hogy nem lesz gondja bölcsőre, megteszi a dióhéj is. Így lett a kisfiú neve Dióbél. Minthogy szülei nagyon szegények voltak, Dióbél a kastélyba került kisinasnak. Innen a falusi kastélyból indult kalandos útjára a kisfiú, aki kicsi termete ellenére is Kossuth katonája lett. Móra Ferenc (Kiskunfélegyháza, 1879. július 19. – Szeged, 1934. február 8.) író, újságíró, muzeológus, a „tiszteletbeli makói”. Móra Istvántestvéröccse, Móra László költő nagybátyja.

Ferenc Móra (19 July 1879 – 8 February 1934) was a Hungarian novelist, journalist, and museologist.

Ferenc Móra was born in Kiskunfélegyháza, into a financially poor family. His father Márton Móra was a tailor, and his mother Anna Juhász was a baker. He acquired his formal education under the most extreme hardships because of the financial poverty of his family. At the Budapest University he earned the degree of Geography and History education but worked as a teacher only for one year at Felsőlövő, Vas county. He was a prominent figure of youth literature in Hungary. His parallel career of museology started in 1904 at the combined library and museum of Szeged serving the county capital of Szeged and its surrounding Csongrád county. He was appointed as the director of the combined library and museum of Szeged and Csongrád county in 1917 and served in that post as director until 1934, when he died, aged 54, at Szeged. Today the museum is named in his honor as the "Móra Ferenc Muzeum" which can be seen on the internet at many websites. 

Reich Károly (Balatonszemes, 1922. augusztus 8. – Budapest, 1988. január 7.) Kossuth-díjas magyar grafikusművész.

Károly Reich (8 August 1922 – 7 September 1988; also written Karoly Reich) was a Hungarian artist, best known for his children's books illustrations and for his original draughtsmanship. His illustrations were popular among Hungarian children throughout his 40-year career,^[1] during which he illustrated around 500 books.

A Dióbél királyfi 1963-ban bemutatott magyar rajzfilm, amely Móra Ferenc azonos című meséjéből alapult. A rendezője és írója Dargay Attila, a zeneszerzője ifj. Peskó Zoltán. A rövidfilm a Pannónia Filmstúdió gyártásában készült. Műfaját tekintve mesefilm.
