A reformáció egyházai csak a héber kánon könyveit ismerték el kanonikus könyveknek. Emellett a deuterokanonikus, apokrifus könyveket építő irodalomként ajánlják. Luther fordítása első teljes kiadásában (1534) a következőket írja ezekről a könyvekről: Apokrifusok azok a könyvek, amelyeket nem tartunk egyenlő értékűeknek a Szentírással, de mégis hasznosak, és jó olvasni őket. – A reformátusok kezdetben szintén felvették őket a Bibliába, így Károli Gáspár is, de később elhagyták azokat. Általában a modern protestáns fordítások nem tartalmazzák, de amint jelen fordításunk is mutatja, becsüljük ezeket az ősi könyveket, amelyek nagy utat tettek meg mind a zsidóság, mind a keresztyén egyház történetében.

The churches of the Reformation recognized the books of the Hebrew canon as canonical books. In addition, it is recommended for deuterocanonic, apocryphal books as constructive literature. The first complete edition of Luther's translation (1534) describes these books: Apocrypha are books that are not considered equal to Scripture, but are still useful and good to read. - The Calvinists also initially included them in the Bible, so did Gáspár Károli, but later left them. Usually, modern Protestant translations are not included, but as our translation shows, we appreciate these ancient books that have made a great difference in the history of both Jewish and Christian churches.

In this edition, the translation of all books in the Septuagint is based on the traditional, classic version.
