English Summary:

Asterix in Britain (French: Astérix chez les Bretons) is a Belgian/French animated film released in 1986; the fifth Asterix feature film, and the last from Dargaud Films. It is based on the book of the same name. The theme song The Lookout is Out was performed by Cook da Books and was based on Plastic Bertrand's "Astérix est là" (the theme song from the previous film, Asterix Versus Caesar) but with a slower tempo, played with acoustic guitars and brand new English lyrics.

French Summary:

Jules César lance une expédition pour conquérir la Bretagne : la population locale a du mal à se défendre, elle refuse en effet de combattre après cinq heures de l'après-midi et pendant le week-end ; l'île est donc soumise à la domination romaine, et seul un petit village résiste à l'envahisseur. Son chef, Zebigbos, décide alors d'envoyer son compatriote Jolitorax en Armorique, chez son cousin gaulois Astérix, dont on connaît les exploits contre les Romains. Justement Astérix mais surtout Obélix sont en proie à une grande nostalgie, car il n'y a plus de Romains avec lesquels combattre : ils sont tous partis faire la guerre en Bretagne. Une fois informés de la situation ils décident de partir pour l'île, en emportant avec eux une barrique de potion magique que leur a préparée leur druide Panoramix.

Julius Ceasar, a ravasz római hadvezér kifundálta, hogy miként lehet meghódítani Britanniát. Bár a brit katonák rendkívül bátrak, de különös szokásoknak hódolnak: mindennap délután 5 órakor felfüggesztik a harcot azért, hogy forró vizet igyanak, de ami még ennél is meglepőbb, hetente öt csatanapot és két pihenőnapot tartanak. Nem csoda hát, ha a szemfüles rómaiak - a hétvégét kihasználva - elfoglalják Britanniát. Már csak egy kis brit falu lakói tartják magukat a túlerővel szemben. De vajon meddig lesznek képesek erre?! Még szerencse, hogy van egy Asterix nevű gall rokonuk, aki talán segíthet rajtuk.
