Sándor Kányádi (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈʃaːndor ˈkaːɲaːdi]; 10 May 1929 – 20 June 2018) was a Hungarian poet and translator from the region of Transylvania, Romania. He was one of the most famous and beloved contemporary Hungarian poets. He was a major contributor to Hungarian children's literature. His works have been translated into English, Finnish, Estonian, Swedish, German, French, Romanian and Portuguese.

Kányádi Sándor (Nagygalambfalva, 1929. május 10. – ) a Nemzet Művésze címmel kitüntetett, Kossuth-díjas erdélyi magyar költő, a Digitális Irodalmi Akadémia alapító tagja, a Magyar Művészeti Akadémia rendes tagja.

Műveit angol, észt, finn, francia, német, norvég, orosz, portugál, román és svéd nyelvekre is lefordították. Életműsorozatát a Helikon Kiadó 2007-től adja ki, gyerekkönyvei különböző válogatásokban, versei megzenésítve és audió hordozókon is folyamatosan jelennek meg.

"Utólag bevallhatom, bizony meg-megrendült a nadrág rajtam és nagyon futásra bizsergett a talpam, amikor ott a Hargitán Ambrussal szembe kerültem. De az a tulajdonságom, hogy ha nagyon szorul a nadrág, vagyis ha fogytán a bátorságom, akkor versekkel biztatom magam. Akkor is mind azt mondogattam magamban, hogy ...Híres, drága bunda rajtam, húsz körömmel magam varrtam. Nyusztból, nyestből, mókusból, Kutyából meg farkasból. Brumma, brumma, brummadza. Ettől aztán erőre kaptam, s ha a nevét nem is tudtam megjegyezni a bemutatkozásnál, azért derekasan megálltam, illetve ültem a helyem a medve mellett a gyepen. Ajánlani tudom nektek is, a szép vers nagy erőt tud adni az emberfiának, s a világ is mindjárt megszépül tőle."
